A world of stories.
A community connected.
The Sikh brings together news, ideas, learning, opportunities, and events for Sikhs around the world. We want a busy reader to leave better informed, a parent to find something useful, and a young person to see a place for themselves in the community.
Who is behind it
The Sikh is an independent project founded and published by Jas Dhillon. We are not affiliated with the organizations we cover and do not claim to speak for every Sikh tradition or community. Our first English-language edition focuses on primary-source material from North America and resources useful worldwide.
How we publish
We publish short factual summaries and links to original sources. An organization’s announcement is identified as its account, rather than presented as independent reporting. Evergreen resources, news publication dates, and future event dates are distinguished.
AI handles routine discovery, summarization, and scheduled updates. There is no routine human editorial review. Entries include original source links and dates; organizational announcements are attributed. Uncertain material, sensitive allegations, political disputes, violence, and theological rulings are excluded from automated publication. Automated checks reduce errors but do not guarantee accuracy. If a check fails, the existing edition remains available.
We do not republish full articles or copy publisher photographs. The photograph of Harmandir Sahib is a file image by Benny Gross, made available under CC0 through Wikimedia Commons. Its presence does not depict a current event or imply an endorsement.
Corrections and community contributions
We welcome corrections, local stories, and event suggestions. Suggestions are saved privately and are not published automatically. We do not promise a response or immediate review. Organizers remain the source of final event details.
Send a correction or contact the publication with a story or question. Include a source link and an optional contact email. A reply is not guaranteed.
AISikhy
AISikhy searches the source-linked records in this guide. Its preview is community search; conversational AI is enabled only when its provider is configured. AI answers, when available, are labeled and linked to the records used. AISikhy is not a religious authority and does not make scholarship decisions. Check provider information before acting.
The portrait of Ajay Banga is a May 2023 White House photograph, in the public domain, via Wikimedia Commons. It accompanies a historical appointment story, not a new announcement. Other photographs carry credits on their listings.
Guides and original context
Our practical guides offer editorial advice on choosing and using resources. Provider descriptions are based on the linked primary sources; the guides are not religious rulings or a claim that every resource is currently available. Published dates identify when a guide was issued, while source-review dates identify when its provider pages were checked.
Explore our source directory and read the practical guides.
Advertising and email
The first edition has no paid placements. Future sponsorships will be identified. Our email form currently collects a launch waitlist; email delivery has not started.
